Naturally occurring organic compounds called (thujaplicins) give off that richly distinct cedar aroma that smells so good to humans but makes the wood highly unattractive to insects, moths and other pests.

About Oak:
Chinese Oak wood is dense finer grained hardwood, similar to Teak about 5% harder than Red Oak.  The heartwood is light brown and some boards have a lighter pinkish tint to them.  Chinese Oak is a more durable material than Red Oak and is ideal for outdoor furniture.  The tannic acids in the wood protect it from fungi decay and insect attack.  This natural weather-proofing ability makes Chinese Oak an ideal wood for outdoor patio furniture and garden structures.
And about Teak:
Teak wood is a dense, fine grained hardwood, similar to Oak.  The wood fibers in Teak Wood contain tannic acids with protect it from fungi decay and insect attack.  This natural weather proofing ability has made Teak Wood the choice material for ship builders for centuries.  It has been found that Teak Wood is also ideal for outdoor garden structures and patio furniture.  Our Teak product is made from environmentally friendly Plantation Teak in Jakarta, Indonedia.  The plantation is regulated by an Indonesian government agency who set guidelines as to the number and size of trees which can be harvested as well as the number of trees which are replanted for future generations.
